Bowing & Stances
 

Bowing

Stand straight,
Toes and Heels together.
Arms straight,
Hands open against sides

Bend at waist while
keeping Body and Arms straight

Stances

Ready Stance A

  • Feet are shoulder width
  • Arms are in a circle with the fists in front of the knot on your belt

Ready Stance B

  • Feet are together with the knees slightly bent
  • Shoulders and elbows are relaxed
  • The right hand is in a tight fist with the thumb facing up
  • The left hand is in a "C" around the right fist but not touching
  • Both hands are between chin and sternum

Ready Stance C

  • Feet are together with the knees slightly bent
  • Both hands are in the knife hand position with fingers and thumbs tight and the left hand on top
  • Hands are in front of the groin

Ready Stance D

  • Feet are shoulder width
  • Hands are over the head with the thumbs and index finger making a triangle
  • Elbows are bent

Ready Stance E

  • Feet are shoulder width
  • Right hand is in knife hand position
  • Left hand is in a fist with the thumb facing up

 

Ready Stance F

  • Feet are shoulder width
  • Both hands are in the knife hand position with left hand on top making an "X" in front of the chest
  • Hands rest on each shoulder
